Hello,
I have some Crystal reports (.rpt) files to be published in a web appliction (only visible inside my company) running an crystal reports Server 8.5 with 5 CAL.
- In the web application the users selects the data to be reported and all the data (including some graphics) will be stored in data tables on an MS SQL Server 2008 to be transfered to the requested .RPT-Files.
- Actually I am using the ActiveX component of the CR-Viewer in IE but in future I want to create PDF output "on the fly" without any client installaion needed.
I have to migrate into an actual and supported version of CR (CR 8.5 Server could not be installated anymore).
I'm now a little be confused, which version of CR I have to use.
- If I'm using Microsoft visual Studio .NET to create a web application CR runtime seems to be included without the need of an extra CR license.
Is it possible, to create a .NET WEB application publishing reports as a pdf document to the user? - or
Do I have to install Crystal Enterprise Server with at least 5 CAL lizences?
Need some help to unterstand what kind of installation I need.
Thanks for any help
