Help in Migration Strategy of Legacy tables to SAP

Hi Folks,

Need different thought about migrating legacy data to SAP. Scenario is that we have few hundred legacy tables with few common fields (e.g. 4 fields are common across all legacy tables) and few different fields (e.g. few fields are unique to each table). I need to migrate these tables to SAP. Now as specified above, these are few hundred, I don't want all those Z-table to be created in SAP for each legacy table.

Here I need various thoughts of migrating these tables. One thought is having a generic table in SAP with all legacy table name field and common fields (4 fields common across all legacy tables) and few generic fields of type string. Any unique fields in legacy table can be mapped to these generic fields. But problem here, I won't have a way to find, what kind of data does this field store.

Any suggestions or way to do it in a better way? Thanks.

Regards,

Ravi
